This weekend Madeleine and I went down to Moab and hiked in Arches National Park. Every year during the week of Earth Day, all National Parks offer free admission...so we took full advantage! Our friend Jamie came with us as well...we had a great time! Madeleine was such a trooper...loved the 'sand box' and all the free land to roam around in.

New Words

Madeleine has been able to say a few words for a while now--along with her animal sounds...Momma, Dadda, HI, Hi Ya, Hey, ...only recently has she been able to put those words to good use, such as:

When seeing Mark: Hi Dadda
When the phone rings: HI
When Kitty comes around: Hi hiya hi hi
When she's hungry: Momma Mom Momma
When she wants help: Momma MOM MUM
---how did I get the raw deal in this?

On a separate note, she can now feed herself! This is great because now we can all eat at the same time instead of taking turns helping her. Her favorite food right now is Mac 'n' Cheese (always has been actually) and red peppers...you know, the most expensive ones. We're pretty sure she's right handed, but gives the left a shot every once in a while.
